Puppy mill rescue operation conducted by activists from BETA
Twenty-eight dog carcasses were found in the heart of Mount Lebanon by animal activists from the Lebanese group BETA - Beirut for the ethical treatment of animals - in a crowded area where kids play and hang out. Twelve dogs were also found alive, feeding on the carcasses.

Breeding facilities open without a license, abuse dogs, starve them to death, do not provide them with medical care, and in this particular breeder’s case, they didn’t even dispose of carcasses, which cause great threat to people in the area.
BETA has launched a petition urging the Lebanese Minister, Marwan Charbel, to take action against this particular facility’s breeder, and to appeal to instruct all the Lebanese Municipalities to keep a proper and strict control over all breeding facilities that are under their jurisdiction by setting adequate standards to puppy mills and pet shops.
