On July 18, 2012 Green Hill was raided by
the authorities!
For one day the A.L.F. (Animal Liberation Front) had a different "uniform".
When country's laws help, everything is possible.
In April, 12 animal-rights activists were arrested during demonstrations after breaking through police lines and climbing over the security fences of the breeding center for beagles destined for scientific experimentation owned by the multinational firm Marshall Farms, located in Montichiari (Brescia) and that was long under fire from animal rights organizations
A European Union directive forbidding the breeding of dogs and cats for scientific experimentation has already passed in Italy's lower House and is slated for vote in the Italian Senate.
In a statement on Wednesday, July 18th, police said that: "at the moment seizure operations are still ongoing. We do not yet know the number of beagles to be confiscated, but the inspection will cover the entire structure".
The sequestered dogs will be entrusted to the public veterinary authorities, police said.
The Public Prosecutor of Brescia had ordered the seizure of Green Hill. During the operation, conducted by the Forest Service, Green Hill was under massive police raid with dozens of policemen, carabinieri, forest services guards and political policemen inside the place. Beagle dogs, puppies and older ones, and the whole building consisting of four sheds, offices and other structures for a total of 5 hectares had been seized. The contested crime is mistreatment of animals.
Three managers at the controversial Green Hill dog breeding facility in northern Italy are being investigated for animal cruelty as authorities begin inspections in preparation for the center's closure, police said on Wednesday.

Last Green Hill beagles placed in homesPoliticians must respect public opinion, says Senate speaker
September 20, 2012
(ANSA) - Rome, September 20 - The last of the dogs saved from the controversial Green Hill breeding facilities last July were placed in homes on Thursday. At a ceremony celebrating the adoptions, Senate Speaker Renato Schifani said that he hoped "animal experimentation comes to an end soon".
The kennels in northern Italy where beagles were being bred for scientific experiments were closed following numerous protests and wide-spread public outcry.
"Politicians should never lose touch with public opinion. It would be an unforgivable mistake if they did," said Schifani. Police in July seized more than 2,500 dogs during inspections of the complex and three company managers have been probed for animal cruelty.
The last of the confiscated dogs, a mother and her two puppies, were delivered to their new home Thursday after a month of rehabilitation in a canine center. The puppies had health issues, and the mothers had never seen sunlight and could not drink normally since they were hydrated through a forced-drip system when in captivity, said Eleonora Bizzozero, head of the rehabilitation center.

Italy is as close to the end of vivisection
as never before!
86% of Italians want to abolish vivisection
Senator Alberto Filippi and his draft law "DDL 3084"
Senator Alberto Filippi is an outstanding Italian politician who wants to introduce a law that makes it a crime to practice vivisection in Italy. His draft law "DDL 3084" is THE BILL capable to finally abolish vivisection and lead to the subsequent closure of animal stock allocated to it.
He sent the video below to the Italian Senate to show the immorality of this barbaric practice, accompanied by the following words:
Dear colleague,
I would be grateful if you would like to devote a few minutes to view the video that you'll find at the end of this message for the sole purpose to help people understand better my already known stance against vivisection.
This is simply a contribution that I felt it was right to share with you, in view of the forthcoming discussion on the issue of animal testing.
Thank you now for your attention and I send You my cordial greetings.
- Sen. Alberto Filippi -
This video is about the horror of vivisection, it is narrated in Italian, but you don't need to speak Italian to understand - the images speak for themselves. The video was created by the Italian organisation Feder F.I.D.A. Onlus
The story (dated April 1947) told in the video is about a gentleman that lost his dog and found him in a lab with his chest open and many tubes coming out his tormented body.
The man could not understand why all the animals were so silent. The doctor told him that they cut off the vocal chords before they experiment on them. His dog was already euthanized ...
The man said, he saw the Christ in the eyes of all those tormented souls.
